1. Building

    The Building Department, located on the first floor of City Hall, serves to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public and to enhance the general quality of life through interpretation and enforcement of the Westlake building codes as well as other applicable regulations governing construction and land uses.

  2. Communications

    The Communications Department provides services to various city departments to aid in the effective delivery of information to residents and businesses.

  3. Community Services

    The Community Services Department offers programs and activities to enrich the lives of the 50 plus population at Westlake Center and provides a system of social services for Westlake residents of all ages.

  4. Engineering

    The department implements all plans and programs relating to city infrastructure including storm and sanitary sewers, structures, roadways, sidewalks and other improvements.

  5. Finance

    The Finance Department is responsible for the accurate accounting of all receipts and disbursements of the City of Westlake, representing the city fully in all financial matters and abiding by all mandates governing proper municipal financial control.

    The City of Westlake Human Resources Department provides strategic, innovative and flexible policies, programs and services that foster a productive work environment where people feel valued.

  8. Information Technology

    The Information Technology Department provides services to city departments to aid in the effective delivery of IT services that support the business needs of the city.

  9. Law

    The Law Department represents the City in all legal matters and pursues and defends all actions on behalf of the City or against the City in all Ohio and United States courts or agencies – from filing through discovery, trial and any necessary appellate work.

  10. Planning & Economic Development

    Planning administers the vision for the long-term development needs of the City. Economic Development works to attract and retain businesses and acts as the liaison to the business community.

  11. Police

    The Westlake Police Department, in partnership with our citizens, is dedicated to providing the most professional police service possible.

  12. Purchasing

    The Purchasing Department is responsible for bidding all goods and services required by the City other than large capital and civil engineering type projects, which are administered by the Engineering Department.

    Westlake is a great place to live, work, and play; and our mission is to provide leisure programs, facilities, and services that enrich this vibrant community.

  14. Service

    The Service Department's overall mission is to ensure and promote a safe and healthy environment for the residents and businesses of Westlake by providing a variety of services with pride, commitment and courtesy.

  15. Westshore Central Dispatch Center

    The Westshore Central Dispatch Center (WCD) sends fire and EMS responders to 911 and emergency number calls in Bay Village, Fairview Park, North Ridgeville, Rocky River, and Westlake and for mutual aid to other neighboring communities.

  16. Market Square at Crocker Park

    Market Square is a 13,000+-square-foot indoor event venue with adjacent outdoor green space situated on two picturesque acres at Crocker Park, owned by the City of Westlake and will be managed by Crocker Park's developer, Stark Enterprises. Rental fees will cover the cost of maintenance and capital improvements done by the City.
