Westlake Service Department supervises these annual collections for residents of Westlake only.

Please note: These collections take place during designated weeks only, not year-round. See below for options in Cuyahoga County for disposal of these items at other times of the year.

Acceptable Items

During the Round-Ups, we can accept a variety of items in addition to computers, such as scanners, phones, video games, stereo equipment, microwaves, cameras, and select batteries. Please review our lists of acceptable items and those we cannot accept.

A year-round drop off location for computers and related items in Cuyahoga County is operated by RET3. It is not affiliated with the City of Westlake.

You dropped off 13,963 lbs. of hazardous waste during the Fall Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up! It’s a record for Westlake. The materials were delivered to the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District to be properly disposed of. Thanks for helping to protect the environment and making our city safer!

Previous Fall Household Hazardous Waste totals:
2015 - 8,538 lbs.
2014 - 3,465 lbs.
2013 - 5,825 lbs.

If you were unable to participate in the Fall Household Hazardous Waste Round-up, the next collection will be Spring 2017. Dates have not been set yet, but are usually in early May.

Acceptable Items

We accept a variety of non-latex paint and related products, pesticides, household cleaners, adhesives, batteries, light bulbs, etc.  Please review our list of prior to bringing items to the Service Center.

NO Latex Paint
Latex paint will not be accepted. It is not classified as hazardous waste and can be safely disposed of with your household trash after it is dried out.
