Westlake Service Department supervises these annual collections for residents of Westlake only.

Please note: These collections take place during designated weeks only, not year-round. See below for options in Cuyahoga County for disposal of these items at other times of the year.

Acceptable Items


During the Round-Ups, we can accept a variety of items in addition to computers, such as scanners, phones, video games, stereo equipment, microwaves, cameras, and select batteries. Please review our lists of acceptable items and those we cannot accept.

A year-round drop off location for computers and related items in Cuyahoga County is operated by RET3. It is not affiliated with the City of Westlake.

2017 Household Hazardous Waste Round Ups

Acceptable Items


We accept a variety of non-latex paint and related products, pesticides, household cleaners, adhesives, batteries, light bulbs, etc.  Please review our list of prior to bringing items to the Service Center.

NO Latex Paint
Latex paint will not be accepted. It is not classified as hazardous waste and can be safely disposed of with your household trash after it is dried out.

CFL Bulb & Fluorescent Tube Bulb Recycling
The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District is no longer accepting CFL bulbs or fluorescent tube bulbs that are collected during the Hazardous Waste Round-Ups. The City of Westlake will continue to accept these bulbs at our Fall Hazardous Waste Round-Up, though we may discontinue collection next year. Reminder, residents can only drop off these bulbs during our Hazardous Waste Round-Ups, we do NOT accept them year-round. See below for year-round drop off options. 

Residents can recycle CFL bulbs year-round, FREE of charge, at the following locations:

Fluorescent tube bulbs & CFL bulbs can be recycled year-round, for a small fee, at:
