  5. Summer Camp for kids ages 5-12

    Our popular summer day camp embraces the active nature of the Recreation Center. Kids will enjoy crafts, games, fitness programs such as yoga and Zumba as well as an art class, a weekly field trip and swimming. All fees are included. Children will need to bring a towel, swimsuit and lunch daily. Afternoon snack will be provided. Child must have completed kindergarten. Receive a multi-session/ child member discount, registration must be done at the same time.   6. Black Dog Lacrosse Camp (ages 6-15)

    OUR 30th YEAR IN THE WEST SUBURBS OF CLEVELAND RUNNING CAMPS for kids!! A veteran coaching staff comprised of seasoned high school and college coaches and assisted by NCAA players will be in place to demonstrate great instruction to all the campers in attendance. Campers will learn key fundamentals of the game, teamwork and sportsmanship through a combination of drills and scrimmage play. We will cover all the key skills and field positions – Attack, Midfield, Defense and Goalie – in the camp. Beginning players will be required to bring sticks and mouth guards (Can be purchased through the camp). Intermediate players will be required to have full equipment. Helmets provided by camp, if necessary. Our last day is highlighted by our very popular Lacrosse Olympics where campers get to test their skills!! Available for both boys and girls beginner or intermediate level.

    This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Our Tiny-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes. Participants will receive a T-Shirt and Merit Award! Please bring appropriate clothing, water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen.

    Camp Directors Steve Beans and Laura DiPaola, have been teaching professionals (USPTA) in the area for many years and bring their expertise and knowledge of the game to class. Must be registered by the Friday before class begins. All participants must bring a tennis racquet, water bottle, hat, sunscreen and a snack. Introduce players to the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, volleys and serve. Practice various skills in groups through station courts. Quickstart techniques will be used as needed.
