
Westlake's annual Memorial Day parade kicks off at Westlake Christian Church, 25800 Hilliard Boulevard and proceeds east to Clague Park where a dedication ceremony takes place. The parade is sponsored by the Westlake Kiwanis Club.

The city's annual 4th of July parade begins at Westlake High School and proceeds east on Hilliard Boulevard to Clague Park. Walkers join the parade at the Westlake Christian Church, 25800 Hilliard Boulevard, while the motorized units begin at the high school. After the parade, Mayor Dennis Clough, members of City Council and students from various Westlake schools recite patriotic readings on the main stage at Crocker Park. Evening festivities take place at Clague Park. Food and drink vendors are located near Clague Cabin along with musical entertainment. Fireworks
begin at dusk - weather permitting.

This Crocker Park sponsored event is filled with 4th of July festivities. Various forms of entertainment are provided including patriotic readings from Mayor Dennis Clough and City Council members, choir performances, clowns and face painting for the kids, a car show and musical performances by popular local musicians.

On Sunday evenings in July and August, sweet sounds of music and friendly
greetings fill the air at the Westlake Recreation Center. The City of Westlake Summer
Concert Series is held at the Recreation Center Pavilion from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The FREE concerts have a variety of performers appropriate for all age groups.
All are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy this traditional summer pastime.

The 2010 St. John Medical Center’s Festival of the Arts, is one of the premier arts and crafts shows in Ohio. The fair brings in more than 200 fine artists and craft makers from across the country to Westlake. In addition to artwork and crafts, musical entertainment and food stations are made available to the public.

Westlake in Bloom is a friendly competition among residents, organizations and businesses in the Westlake community competing in categories ranging from window boxes to residential landscaping. The Northcoast Challenge (formerly Celebrate Westlake) is an annual event that includes a 5-mile run, 3-mile walk and a run for kids. This event helps to raise money for local charities. Food and refreshments as well as musical entertainment and children's activities are also part of this family event.

A fun filled festival, held in mid October has become a Westlake tradition. It includes a pumkin hunt (designed for age groups), face painting, hay rides, hay maze, treats, inflatables and much more. This FREE community event takes place on the grounds of the Westlake Recreation Center. The date and times are published each year in the Fall Recreation Brochure and are found at this website.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony is held each year at Crocker Park, usually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and serves as the kick-off for the holiday season. Mayor Dennis Clough and members of City Council take time to welcome residents and visitors and call upon Santa Claus to help light the tree. Various singing groups entertain the crowd with holiday music and members of the Westlake Town Criers announce a new couple to hold the title of Mr. and Mrs. Westlake for the upcoming year.
