D.A.R.E. van has a new look

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, administered by the Westlake Police Department to the school students in this city, has an become an even more visible presence since the D.A.R.E. van has been given a entirely new look. For details and photos, click here.

Surplus Vehicles and Equipment

The City of Westlake and the Westlake Police Department will be disposing of certain forfeited, confiscated, obsolete and surplus items through GovDeals.com on-line auction service. Items will be added the first week of every month as they become available throughout the year, please check back frequently to see the current items.

Cell Phone Collection Continues

The need continues: the collection of old cell phones at the Westlake Police Department for use by the Rape Crisis Center will continue indefinitely. The response to the WPD's collection has been so successful the Center asked to have it continue. So bring any and all unwanted cell phones to the Police Department lobby and place them in the designated box.

Police Department Receives National Award

The International Association of Chief's of Police presented a second place award to the Westlake Police Department as a part of the Cuyahoga County OVI Task Force. This recognition was based on their achievement in all task force initiatives. Sergeant Mark Krumheuer received an Exemplary Service award from the OVI Task Force as well. Mayor Dennis Clough recognized the Department and Sgt. Krumheuer at a recent City Council meeting.
