The need continues: the collection of old cell phones at the Westlake Police Department for use by the Rape Crisis Center will continue indefinitely. The response to the WPD's collection has been so successful the Center asked to have it continue. So bring any and all unwanted cell phones to the Police Department lobby and place them in the designated box.
The International Association of Chief's of Police presented a second place award to the Westlake Police Department as a part of the Cuyahoga County OVI Task Force. This recognition was based on their achievement in all task force initiatives. Sergeant Mark Krumheuer received an Exemplary Service award from the OVI Task Force as well. Mayor Dennis Clough recognized the Department and Sgt. Krumheuer at a recent City Council meeting.
