2nd Annual Westlake In Snow Competition

It's time to let your creativity shine! The Recreation Center is hosting the 2nd Annual Westlake In Snow competition. Register your house, call us when your sculpture is ready and we will come to your house to judge your work of art. Pre-registration is required. No artificial snow making matertials, please! This event will take place Jan. 2 - Feb. 28.

Ultimate After Hours Bash (grade 6)

Do you have cabin fever? We have the ultimate bash for you. Come hang out with your friends and enjoy some trivia questions, interactive games, swimming and basketball! The Community Room doors will open at 8:30 p.m. (no one will be admitted after 9 p.m.). All participants will remain in the Recreation Center until 10:30 p.m. This event is open to members and children who live in or go to school in Westlake. Food and drink will be provided. The deadline to register is 3 days prior to the event. This event will take place on Feb. 22 for grade 6.

Father/Daughter Valentine's Day Dance (ages 3 - 10)

Dance the night away with your little princess. This is a great chance for dad to spend time with his daughter(s). Snacks and punch will be provided. Each couple will receive a photo memento of the evening. Join us for a "sweet" time! Deadline to register is Feb. 1 or when a max of 100 is reached. This event will take place on Feb. 5, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

9th Annual President's Day Beach Party (ages 3 and older)

With no school on Feb. 15, what a great day to have a beach party! There will be music, games, prizes and of course the famous Big Kahuna Cannonball Classic. Be there or be square! Advance sign up is required by Feb. 11. This event will take place on Feb. 15, from 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Winter Carnival & Scavenger Hunt (ages 2 - 8)

It's cold outside so why not spend the afternoon with us, dodging the elements? Kids can enjoy games such as ring toss, cornhole, building a snowman outside (weather permitting) and much more. It's an afternoon that the family will truly enjoy. Register by Feb. 17. This event will take place on Feb. 21, from 1 - 3 p.m.

Overnight Pajama Party (grades 5 - 7)

Join us for our first ever Overnight Pajama Party! There will be swimming, basketball, volleyball, movies and Wii tournaments. Snacks will be provided. Participants will need to bring pajamas, pillow, sleeping bag, swim suit and towel. Boys and girls will sleep in different adult supervised areas. Register by Feb. 21. This event will take place Feb. 27 - 28, from 8 p.m. - 8 a.m.

Children's Health Fair

Local vendors will be on hand to perform health screenings and to provide information on nutrition, health and prevention. Mark your calendars for Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. - noon. Please contact Anne Mitchell at 440-808-5700 for more information.

Westlake Weighs Down - Weight Loss Challenge

This new fitness challenge is open to all Westlake residents ages 18 and older and is based on a percentage of total weight loss. All participants will be required to take part in three mandatory weigh-ins (at the start, middle and finish) held at the Westlake Recreation Center. All weigh-ins are confidential. There is a $10 registration fee, which includes a Weighs Down t-shirt. JOIN NOW!

Awards will be given to the top three male and female losers. Talks by various health organizations, health and nutrition tips, recipes, exercise charts and more will be available to all participants. Program will conclude with a wellness seminar and awards presentation held at the Recreation Center. For more information, please contact Anne Mitchell at 440-808-5700.

Easter Winter Carnival (ages 3 - 8)

This special family-night event will be sure to bring excitement before the big weekend. Play your favorite carnival games in the Aquatics Center! There will be a duck pond, ring toss, cornhole, putt putt and much more! The Easter Bunny will be stop in for a special visit so be sure to bring your cameras! Deadline to register is March 24 or until the program fills. This event will take place on March 26, from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Cardboard Boat Races (ages 7+)

Grab a friend and build a boat out of only cardboard and packing tape that is capable of holding you and your friend! Bring your boat to the Aquatics Center for our 2nd Annual Cardboard Boat Race. There will be three different categories: First Mate (ages 7 - 9), Skipper (ages 10 - 12) and Admiral (ages 13 and up). A complete list of rules and directions will be provided at the time of registration. Register by April 17. This event will take place on April 23, from 7 - 8:30 p.m..

Bloodmobile

The American Red Cross will be sponsoring a Blood Drive at the Westlake Recreation Center. Last blood donor will be processed no later than 6:45 pm. You must be at least 17 years old and weigh 105 pounds or more to be eligible to donate blood. Donors must also keep at least 56 days between each whole blood donation. The Westlake Recreation Center offers excellent personal trainers to members. Prices could fluctuate with purchase of packaged sessions. Contact one of the trainers listed below and get started today.
*Members are not permitted to bring their own trainers. All trainers must have certification and a signed contract with the city of Westlake.
