Leaf Pick-up
 When: 2009 leaf pick-up season began Monday, October 19 and will continue through December 11, weather permitting. Under normal cicumstances and conditions, there should be no more than a 2 week period between pick-ups. Residents are requested to place their leaves on the tree lawns. Do not place leaves in the street.

Westlake-Bay Humus & Wood Chips Pricing Information
Leaf humus is an all natural byproduct of leaves. No chemicals are added during the decomposing process. It is an excellent soil conditioner and shouldn’t be mistaken or used for topsoil. Various uses: in gardens, around flower beds, mixed with topsoil, etc. Our screening process eliminates most stones, branches, twigs and other debris.

Wood chips come from all portions of a tree that are above ground level. Various uses: ground cover for flowerbeds, around trees, landscaping, etc.

 

Leaf humus
Per bushel: $1
Per 30-gallon container: $2
Per cubic yard: $10
For 101 cubic yards or more: $7 per cubic yard
For 101 cubic yards or more: $5 (unscreened) per cubic yard

Wood chips
Per bushel: $1
Per 30-gallon container: $2
Per cubic yard: $7

One cubic yard of material will cover approximately 160 sq. ft. @ 2-inches deep, 106 sq. ft. @ 3-inches deep, or 80 sq. ft. @ 4-inches deep.

Hauling fee: Add $20/load per stop.

Purchasing Material
You must first purchase a reciept for material at:
Westlake City Hall,
27700 Hilliard Boulevard,
8 a.m – 5 p.m.
Monday through Friday
Material CANNOT be purchased at the Westlake Service Garage or the West Bay compost site.

Picking up Material
Pick up the material with PAID RECEIPT ONLY at:
Service Department Main Office, 741 Bassett Road
Monday through Friday: 8 – 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 – 3:30 p.m
Saturdays from 8 – 11:30 a.m.
Closed Sundays and all Legal Holidays

TIP: Residents purchasing delivery service may wish to consider co-purchasing material with neighbors to maximize up to 7 yards per delivery fee.

TIP: Receipts for pick-up need not be filled at one time. Receipt material amount will be deducted per pick-up and will be accepted until filled for current calendar year. For example, you can pick-up 1 yard at a time, 5X on a 5 yard purchase receipt.
