4th of July Parade and Fireworks


The City's annual Independence Day festivities are held on July 4, 2018. 

We will update this page as details for the 2019 events become available.

2018 Parade Participant Information

Vehicles to be featured in the parade will line up by 9:30 a.m. at Lee Burneson Middle School,  2260 Dover Center Rd.

Walkers will meet at Sts. Peter and George Coptic Orthodox Church, 25800 Hilliard Blvd., by 9:30 a.m.

2018 Celebration Details

The City's festivities officially begin at 10 a.m. with a parade travelling from Lee Burneson Middle School north on Dover Center Rd., turning right onto Hilliard Blvd., and continuing east to Clague Park

At approximately 11:15 a.m., Mayor Dennis M. Clough, members of City Council, and special guests will honor America’s birthday in a short ceremony at the entrance to Clague Park including the National Anthem, patriotic readings, parade awards, and presentations.

  • The 29th Annual Charity Classic Car Show begins at 10 a.m. plus Dog Show, Martial Arts Demo, rides on the Euclid Beach Boys Rocket Ship Car and more.

  • Balloon clowns and face painters are among the children’s activities which runs from 10 a.m. to noon. 
  • Food and drink vendors will be located near Clague Cabin after 4 p.m.

    NOTE: Due to construction and fireworks fencing at Clague Park this year, access from the east side of the park (by the baseball diamonds) to the west side of the park (by the Clague Cabin/gazebo) will not be possible by walking through the park.

    Those wishing to go to the food trucks parked by the Clague Cabin will have to walk westbound along Hilliard Blvd. to the west driveway of Clague Park. NOTE: The west side of the park can only be accessed by this driveway.

    Please remember that the Clague Cabin is closed to the public for all 4th of July events.

  • Musical entertainment by DJ Eazy will begin after 6 p.m.  
  • Fireworks will begin at dusk, weather permitting.

2018 Traffic Information

The 4th of July parade will run on Dover Center Rd. (north of Bassett Rd.) and turn onto Hilliard Blvd. eastbound to Clague Park. The parade route will be closed at 10 a.m. Expect delays.


Road closures for the fireworks display in the evening at Clague Park:

  • At 8 p.m., Clague Rd will close between Detroit Rd and Hilliard Blvd.
  • At 9:30 p.m., Hilliard Blvd. will close between Hilliard Elementary School and Clague Rd.
  • When fireworks have concluded:
    • Clague Rd. will remain closed to southbound traffic. ONLY NORTHBOUND traffic will be allow to proceed until the intersection at Clague Rd./Hilliard Blvd. is opened
    • Hilliard Blvd. will remain closed to eastbound traffic in front of the park. ALL TRAFFIC FROM THE PARK (both drives), HILLIARD ELEMENTARY, AND KATHRYN DR WILL BE DIRECTED WESTBOUND
    • Northbound traffic from Clague Rd will be directed eastbound on Hilliard Blvd.
    • Westbound traffic from Hilliard Blvd. will be directed southbound on Clague Rd.

Parking Notice: 

The parking lot in Clague Park by the Clague Cabin (east entrance off of Hilliard Blvd.) is for people with passes and handicapped ONLY. It will be gated off.

There will be public parking along Hilliard Blvd. in the curb lane both east and west bound. Do not block fire hydrants or driveways.
