What's Brewing in Westlake was a happy hour fundraiser and networking event with live music entertainment by invitation only to the Westlake business professional community.
Equity Trust Company and Sibling Revelry Brewing teamed up to co-sponsor the inaugural event to benefit the Westlake Senior and Community Services Department's Social Services programs for the most vulnerable in our community. About 5% of our residents, almost 1,300 people, live in poverty.
This first event in 2018 hosted by Equity Trust Company at their headquarters helped to raise $1,800 for our social services efforts through ticket and fine wine pull sales.
These funds can buy all of the meat for our holiday food basket distribution and would also pay approximately 6 overdue utility bills and keep lights and/or heat on for 6 families.
Westlake Senior and Community Services Department thanks our generous sponsors, donors and attendees who made this evening a great success!
Watch for details on this page for our summer 2019 event as they become available.
If you are unable to attend but would like to make a financial donation to support the department's social service programs, please make your check payable the City of Westlake and include on the stub or memo line "What's Brewing - Donation Only" and mail to:

Donna Feorene, our Outreach Coordinator, can connect local businesses with our holiday food and gift distributions and unique volunteer projects. These may be at clients' homes or at the center. Some projects may take only a few hours on a single day, other can involve preparation over a few weeks, or be ongoing such as once a month.
