The Senior and Community Services Advisory Council is a voluntary council made up of Westlake residents who have a special interest or expertise in community services. Our current members are individuals who also hold positions with the Westlake Porter Library, the Westlake City Schools or are independent Westlake business people, volunteers for civic organizations (such as the Kiwanis) as well as some of our regular patrons and volunteers. We are fortunate to have a robust group to assist us with advice, feedback and their talents.
In 2019, we welcomed our two newest members, Carmela Freeman and Betty Kearney.

The second annual Holiday Gift Raffle was once again sponsored by our Advisory Council Members to raise money for Senior and Community Services programs and activities. The 2018 raffle prizes consisted of eight (8) beautifully wrapped theme baskets filled with food, gift items and gift cards. Also raffled off were two (2) elegant holiday wreaths created by Advisory Council member, Sherry Ascher.
Ten “lucky” tickets were drawn by Kim Bergmann, Marketing Rep for Generations Senior Living, at our Holiday Luncheon in December.
"Our Advisory Council made ten individuals extremely happy this holiday season. I want to single out and thank Cris Kennedy who organized the raffle this year and also thank Sherry Ascher for her help in creating all of the individual baskets. Thank you to our other advisory council members for their generous donations for the raffle baskets," said Lydia Gadd, Director of Senior and Community Services.
