[ARCHIVED] Safety Measures as Westlake Schools Start on Monday, Aug. 21

Schoolbuscrop

School will be back in session for many Westlake students beginning Monday, August 21. Please keep these tips in mind as everyone settles into the new routine.

•    Remember to obey the “right on red” prohibitions, watch for kids walking or biking to school, and stop for school buses loading or unloading.

•    School zone flashers are also activated to warn drivers of the 20 MPH speed limit.  Use extra care when passing these locations.

•    Parents should take time to review basic pedestrian traffic safety rules with children who walk or bicycle to school.

•    Remind children to obey the crossing guards and school bus drivers as well. Children who bike to school should wear helmets and lock their bikes in the bike racks.
