Community Services, SROs pack 'lunch boxes' for students

Spring Break Family Lunches

Many families in Westlake benefit from the school lunch program throughout the school year. Westlake Senior and Community Services, in partnership with the School Resource Officers (SROs) from the Westlake Police force were able to help this year by providing lunch items to those families during Spring Break.

The lunch items included kid favorites like PB&J on white bread, canned pasta, mac ‘n’ cheese, soup, canned tuna, snacks and drinks, along with fresh fruit, lettuce and a bagged lunch from generous donors.

Our SROs packed the “lunch boxes” (decorated with pictures of superheroes and inspirational quotes to keep recipients thinking positively) and distributed them outside our building, taking precautions to help keep everyone safe. In addition, we are providing families with bags of food when they pick up their school lunches at Westlake High School.
