The City of Westlake is committed to helping to keep the public informed about efforts to distribute vaccines for Covid-19.
The City has continued to post and update several useful links to Covid-19 Resources provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the Ohio Department of Health and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health. The City also has made itself available to provide facilities for vaccine distribution efforts at sites deemed appropriate by public health officials.
As many residents likely are aware, the State of Ohio is taking a phased approach to distributing available FDA-approved Covid-19 vaccines.
Medical professionals, first responders and congregate care providers are among the first groups of people eligible to receive the vaccine as part of Phase 1A. These individuals are receiving priority status for vaccinations because they face the highest occupational risk for exposure and/or transmission of Covid-19. Residents of congregate care facilities also are deemed to be in this high risk category. Due to the large number of Cuyahoga County residents who qualify for Phase 1A, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health has indicated that it does not know how long it will take to complete the phase.
Any Cuyahoga County resident eligible for Phase 1A or Phase 1B who wishes to be notified when slots for vaccinations become available at local clinics can sign up for notifications through the County website at this link. Residents who choose to sign up for notifications from the County will receive:
After clicking the link to register, residents will receive a second email message with the date and time of their appointment.
More details about vaccine eligibility and how to sign up for notifications can be found on the Cuyahoga County Board of Health's website HERE.
