The City of Westlake has begun construction on the new Parkside Athletic Field Complex, with the project expected to be completed by September 2025.
The much-anticipated facility will feature two premier artificial turf fields designed to accommodate full-size football and soccer games. The fields will include flexible lining options to support various age groups and competition levels, making them suitable for youth through adult leagues.
Beyond the athletic fields, the complex will include several community amenities: a new playground for younger children, a picnic shelter for gatherings, and a combined concession stand and restroom facility to serve visitors and participants.
The project represents key priorities identified in the city's Parks and Recreation Master Plan and is being funded through resident-supported recreation levy funds.
Recreation department officials say the completed complex will provide more opportunities for youth sports, community gatherings, and healthy outdoor recreation for all ages. The facility is designed to enhance neighborhood connections while supporting active lifestyles throughout the Westlake community.
The new complex is expected to significantly expand the city's capacity to host youth sports programs and community events, addressing growing demand for quality recreational facilities in the area.
