Following the Nov. 4 election, Westlake residents have shaped the leadership that will guide the city into the coming years, returning Mayor Dennis M. Clough to office and welcoming new faces to City Council.

Mayor Clough’s re-election marks the beginning of his 41st year in office, further cementing his legacy as the longest-serving active city mayor in Ohio and placing him among a rare group of municipal leaders nationwide who have guided their communities for four decades. Since 1986, he has overseen Westlake’s transformation from a semi-rural community into a premier regional destination, with his tenure marked by landmark developments, major corporate investments, and significant infrastructure improvements driven by a commitment to responsible growth, fiscal stability, and an exceptional quality of life for residents. Recently, Mayor Clough received the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award from Leadership Ohio, recognizing his lasting contributions to public service.

The election also brought two new members to City Council. Dave Del Regno, a general manager and former planning commissioner, won the Ward 3 seat, while retired teacher and U.S. Navy veteran Todd LeVeck secured victory in Ward 4. Incumbent Duane Van Dyke was re-elected to represent Ward 1.
The City congratulates these leaders and looks forward to their service as they help guide Westlake’s continued growth while preserving the strong neighborhoods that define the community.
