Memorial Day Parade

One of Westlake’s most meaningful traditions returns this year as the annual Memorial Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, the parade begins at St. Peter & George Coptic Orthodox Church on Hilliard Boulevard and proceeds to Clague Park. While the event features floats, marching bands, and community groups, its purpose runs far deeper.

Memorial Day is a time to pause and reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in military service. The parade serves as both a tribute and a reminder — honoring the individuals behind the uniforms and the freedoms their service helped protect.

For many residents, attending the parade has become a yearly tradition that connects generations. Families gather along the route, veterans are recognized, and the community comes together in a shared moment of gratitude.

In a fast-moving world, events like this create space to reflect, remember, and reconnect with the values that define the nation.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early, support local participants, and take part in a ceremony that continues to hold deep meaning for Westlake and beyond.
