Specialized Construction will return to Westlake starting Monday, September 14, 2026, to complete installation of the final asphalt surface course. Work will begin in the Hunters Point neighborhood.
Residents in the area should expect construction activity, equipment, and temporary lane restrictions during working hours. Please use caution around crews and follow posted signage. Work in remaining neighborhoods will follow as the surface course installation progresses.

Westlake’s new IMS permitting and citizen portal is now live!
Residents, property owners, contractors, developers, design professionals, landlords, property managers, and businesses can use IMS to apply for permits and planning or zoning approvals, register as a contractor, submit service requests, report concerns, and search City records.
Most applications and service requests require an IMS account. Selected tasks, including reporting a concern and certain searches, are available as a guest.

Join the Westlake Historical Society for Night at the Museum (After Dark) on Thursday, September 17 from 6-8pm. As evening settles over the house, enjoy ghost stories and tales from the past in the unique atmosphere of this historic home. The special after-hours experience is free and open to the public and offers visitors an opportunity to see the Clague House beyond a traditional daytime museum visit.

Last night we held the 2026 Westlake in Bloom awards ceremony, honoring the residents, businesses and organizations whose gardens make this city what it is.
Winners were recognized across 12 categories this year, and Kim Finau received the Lu Walter "Best in Bloom" Award.

Meet the fall sports teams and coaches, catch the marching band, grab food from local trucks, and see what groups like the PTA and Music Boosters are all about. It's put on by the Westlake Demons Athletic Boosters (WDAB) to build momentum for Westlake athletics heading into the new year.
Kids must be with an adult — this isn't a drop-off event.

The City of Westlake Service Dept. collects brush. Brush is considered tree limbs, branches, sticks/twigs, and bushes. Small sticks/twigs and small branches can be placed in personal cans that are less than 32-gallon size, clearly labeled “Brush”, and weigh less than 50 lbs. Larger branches, limbs, and bushes must be cut to less than 4 ft. in length and bundled to less than 2 ft. wide. Bundles must weigh less than 50 lbs. and should be tied with a non-metallic binder like twine. Unclean root balls must be removed.
